For Immediate Release – The Recording Academy has announced nominees for the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards, the preeminent honor for excellence in music and the only peer-selected music accolade. Legendary Concord Jazz recording artist Chick Corea posthumously earned three nominations: one in the category of Best Classical Compendium for Plays, released on September 11, 2020 and two for Acoustic Band LIVE, released on September 24, 2021, in the categories of Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Best Improvised Jazz Solo for “Humpty Dumpty (Set 2).”
Esperanza Spalding’s Songwrights Apothecary Lab, released September 24, 2021, scored a nomination in the category of Best Jazz Vocal Album.
GRAMMY winners will be announced on Monday, January 31, 2022, on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on demand on Paramount+ from 8–11:30 pm ET / 5–8:30 pm PT. Prior to the telecast, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will be held at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 pm PT/3:30 pm ET and will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com.
