NUBYA GARCIA ANNOUNCES ODYSSEY EUROPE & UK TOUR DATES
Composer, bandleader and saxophonist Nubya Garcia has announced a forthcoming tour of Europe and the UK.
Garcia's Odyssey tour spans eight countries, includes her biggest headline solo shows so far, and runs throughout February and March 2025. Garcia will be joined onstage by her band, which features Lyle Barton on keys, Daniel Casimir on double bass and Sam Jones on drums. The full dates - which culminate in a hometown show at London's KOKO - are listed below. A limited presale opens Thursday (26 September) and tickets are on general sale from Friday (27 September).
Today’s news closely follows Garcia’s widely-praised new album, Odyssey, which was released last week. Odyssey is, as the title suggests, an ambitious and epic journey of a record and follows the Londoner’s Mercury-nominated 2020 debut, Source. The project finds Garcia orchestrating strings for the first time and the bigger, bolder result is a widescreen soundscape that traverses jazz, classical, R&B and dub.
Odyssey is currently being celebrated at a unique exhibition and series of immersive listening experiences in central London. Running until Saturday (28 September), the free exhibition - KEF & Nubya Garcia present: The Making Of Odyssey - is the realisation of Garcia’s long-held vision that Odyssey would involve collective experiences and communal listening events.
