London-based saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia releases “Pace (Moses Boyd remix)” ahead of her upcoming remix album, SOURCE ⧺ WE MOVE, which features 9 original remixes and arrives October 22nd. Through musical collaboration, Nubya teams up with an exciting and innovative array of artists including Dengue Dengue Dengue, Kaidi Tatham, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and keiyaA for a reimagined look at her critically acclaimed album, Source (2020).
This drum and bass banger arrives ahead of Garcia’s performance at the Mercury Prize Awards Show next week and finds her combining with drummer, producer, and 2020 nominee, Boyd.
“Moses Boyd’s interpretation of Pace brings his skills as a producer and drummer to the forefront, while displaying his musicality at the same time. I’m thrilled to collab with him, a friend and colleague!” says Garcia. The Pace remix is one of the highlights of Garcia’s forthcoming remix album.

The reworked tracks retain the inspiring musicianship and blend of jazz and other influences found on the original, whilst also moving in a more beat-driven, electronic direction. After a lengthy enforced hiatus, Garcia and her band – which features Joe Armon-Jones on keys, Daniel Casimir on double bass, and Sam Jones on drums – recently resumed playing live.
In addition to the Proms, they’ve brought their uplifting, joyous live show to various festivals, including Latitude, We Out Here, Green Man and All Points East, have more dates throughout the summer, plus a headline UK tour from 31st October to 8th November. Garcia also continues her long-running monthly DJ residency on NTS Radio.
